How it started
APR Energy needed refreshed messaging and a sophisticated new website that reflected its position as both an industry leader and a strong competitor in the data services space.
While the company possessed decades of mission-critical engineering experience globally, their legacy public narrative was tied strictly to traditional utility energy. The path forward required a rapid, intentional pivot to capture the massive infrastructure demands of high-density GPUs, advanced cooling, and hyperscale AI workloads.
The market opportunity was undeniable, but the brand architecture didn't yet bridge the gap between old-school power generation and modern data center deployment. They needed a cohesive foundation that proved they could stand up grid capacity from scratch—fast. So, they called Program 11.
What we did
Program 11 conducted a comprehensive landscape analysis, stakeholder workshops, and an extensive review of existing company materials to build a clear and compelling messaging framework. Guided by this foundation — and supported by additional research and stakeholder interviews — we created a new positioning and messaging system, along with a new homepage, a cohesive design system, and tailored web copy for key digital pages. To ensure long-term consistency, we also updated APR Energy’s master brand book, elevating its look and feel while capturing the exact refinements introduced with the new site.

APR Energy's true value wasn’t just deploying emergency backup turbines for legacy utilities; it was their unmatched ability to stand up gigawatts of custom, localized power in under 30 days. We shifted their narrative from a reactive commodity vendor to an instant-on infrastructure savior for high-density GPUs, we unlocked the strategic positioning that reframed them from a traditional energy asset into the ultimate AI kingmaker.
How it’s going
The repositioning successfully anchored APR Energy in the fast-growing data infrastructure space, driving the market relevance that culminated in a historic exit.
Less than a year after our engagement, Elon Musk officially acquired the assets of New APR Energy LLC from Fortress Investment Group in a landmark transaction clearing $1 billion.
We enabled the strategic shift that perfectly aligned APR's rapid-deployment power generation with the unprecedented off-grid power demands of the global AI boom.
