Community Impact Storytelling Video Case Study — Banner Health

Putting a Human Face on a $1.1 Billion Healthcare Reinvestment

How it started

Banner Health is Arizona's largest nonprofit health system, built on a simple premise: no shareholders, just neighbors. Every dollar the system earns goes back into the communities it serves — $1.1 billion in 2025 alone, funding everything from rural hospital lifelines to 70,000 meals delivered to homebound seniors.

But that kind of reinvestment is hard to feel in a stat sheet. Banner wanted to show — not just tell — what community impact actually looks like in someone's life: a case manager closing a gap in care, a community partner organization showing up when no one else would, a neighbor whose health outcome changed because the system worked the way it was designed to.

Banner engaged Program 11 to give that impact a face.

What we did

Program 11 built and produced a four-part Community Impact Video Series designed to live everywhere Banner needed to make its reinvestment story tangible — executive presentations, stakeholder communications, and social channels.

Creative strategy and story framing: Working with Banner's team, we identified three distinct stories inside the Community Reinvestment Program — each built to center a different vantage point on what community impact looks like day to day: the neighbor being served, the case manager doing the work, and the community partner organizations making it possible.

On-the-ground production in Tucson: Over four shoot days, our crew captured interview-led documentary footage alongside verité, observational footage at program sites — the day-to-day texture of what community reinvestment looks like in practice.

Full post-production: Editing, licensed music and sound design, and color finishing across all hero and cutdown deliverables, with revision rounds built in to align Banner's stakeholders before final delivery.

How it’s going

Banner has placed the videos front and center on its public reinvestment page, running alongside the $1.1 billion figure and the rest of the system's community impact story — proof, not just claim, of what nonprofit health care looks like on the ground in Arizona.
